Jagriti Art Initiative participated in the Signature Art Fest 08 Kolkata showcasing works of 26 galleries and groups from Kolkata, Shantiniketan , Burdwan, Mumbai & New Delhi. It was different in a way as it invited participation of young professionals, Institutions, Studios, Regional Art Centres, Art Colleges etc., besides regular commercial art galleries under one roof giving fair opportunity and space to showcase their paintings, murals, sculptures and other art wares.
Such a platform ensured the promotion of art & craft amongst educated middle classes at affordable prices. In many ways, it reminded people of the Calcutta Art Fair which was held at the Charles Chaplin Square in the mid 60s.
The event was supported by Avani Group and was held at their swanky new property at 91/A, Park Street - 'Avani Signature'.
