Date : 06.08.08 - 10.08.08

Jagriti Art Initiative organised a rendezvous in Meghalaya between 6th - 10th August, 2008.

It was a congregation of senior artists and sculptors at Ri-kynjai Spa & Resorts at Barapani near Shillong. In all, 13 artists from in and around Kolkata participated in the event. They spent quality time interacting with each other besides visiting local places of tourist interests, capped by evening 'adda' where they indulged in poetry, music and deliberations. It was also a nostalgic time to catch up with their past as many of them have been known to each other for five decades or more and do not get occasion to spend time together.

Besides in and around Shillong, a visit was also made to Cheerapunjee which has breath-taking beauty, greenery and waterfalls. It also borders Sylhet District in Bangladesh which was home to some of the artists before Independence.

On the way back, a visit to Kamakhya Devi temple in Guwahati was also undertaken.

The programme was aptly christened ' Monsoon Magic in Meghalaya' as one got to experience and share magic moments together!
